An exciting bit of news was released last week from the Premier League, concerning Fridays.
Specifically, starting in 2015, there will be a few games played on Fridays the Associated Press reported.
The move is ostensibly to make things easier for Premiership teams that play in the Champion's League. Of course, there's a bit of financial motivation as well. The Premier League received about $8.6 billion for the television rights for the 2013-2016 seasons, and that number will likely increase with an extra day of games.
This year, there are Friday games on Boxing Day and that's all.
The top divisions in France, Spain and Germany already play Friday night games.
Premier League matches normally take place at 3:00 p.m. (England time) on Satudays.
