Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo’s bicycle kick against Juventus was very nice. And of course, that title-clinching hat-trick that Lionel Messi registered against Deportivo was very nice as well. But does that mean, with regards to Sunday’s El Clasico, that we should only focus on the 10-time Ballon d’Or winners?
I’m not so certain. I think it might be a better use of our time to focus on a battle that’ll probably never come close to happening out on the pitch this weekend — I’m talking about the battle of godly control between Barcelona center back Gerard Pique and Real Madrid full back Marcelo.
So, to decide the winner of the 176th LaLiga encounter between the two clubs, I’ve painstakingly created a little poll (at the bottom of this page) pitting Marcelo’s trap against Bayern Munich vs. Pique’s juggling run against Deportivo.
Personally, I need to flip a coin. Marcelo’s slaughter of the ball looks like CGI, and that little swivel at the end adds the necessary panache to match Pique’s swagger.
That’s really all Pique’s is — an absurd bit of strutting of the stuff. But my does he strut it.

We need a real moment of silence for this casual Marcelo trap. This is wild. pic.twitter.com/kObSS2NRNY

Gerard Pique Control vs. Deportivo
So, based on these very non-applicable instances, who wins El Clasico? And please, don’t let your allegiance blind your judgement. This isn’t politics.
