With the Seattle Sounders lifting MLS Cup, Major League Soccer's season has come to an end and eyes are turning to Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) for their United States domestic-soccer entertainment. Seven matches kick off opening weekend. If you want to get the most of the first few matches of the season, here are two matchups to watch for:
Baltimore Blast vs. Utica City FC
Two matches kick off Friday night at 7:35 p.m. ET. If you were to choose one, you should watch Baltimore and Utica.
While this is only Utica's second season in MASL, the New York-based side has picked up quite a division rivalry with the Baltimore Blast. Last season Utica only topped Baltimore in the Eastern Conference by goal difference, both sides finishing 17-7. But in the playoffs, the Blast, after losing their first game to Utica at home, beat Utica on the road to force a third match, which Baltimore won as well.
It is fair to say that Utica will be out for revenge as it travels to Baltimore for Friday's matchup.

What makes this weekend's matchup special, though, is that two days later on Sunday, Utica will be hosting Baltimore. This two-game series to start off the season could easily set the stage for the rest of the season.
Sonora Soles vs. Monterrey Flash
Baltimore and Utica isn't the only two-game series on opening weekend.
The Sonora Soles will have to play the Southern Division champions and MASL Ron Newman Cup finalists Monterrey Flash. Sonora, which took a hiatus last season, has its work cut out for it as it looks to upset a strong Monterrey side, which is looking for revenge after an embarrassing 5-2 loss to Milwaukee in last season's final.
The first match of this series will be Friday night at 9 p.m. ET, with the second match coming on Monday at 10 p.m.
All matches will be available to watch on the MASLtv YouTube channel.
