Weston McKennie joined Leeds United on loan from Juventus for the rest of the 2022/23 season and unites with USMNT teammates Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson.
McKennie gave his first interview with Leeds, and it was none other than Adams who was asking the questions. This might be one of the most fun interviews you’ll see from professional soccer players.
I did the math on it. The interview lasts three minutes and six seconds. McKennie and Adams spend 38 seconds of the interview laughing meaning that literally 20% of their sit down is laughter.
This is like when the two best friends in class get paired together for a project.

The chemistry between the two goes way back to when they were 14 years old. Adams and McKennie have played together on several different U.S. youth national teams.

Will now live out dreams together every week in Premier League with world watching. Incredible journey for both of them. May there be much more to come pic.twitter.com/ccj36IkcWT

While it’s all fun and laughs now, the Americans at Leeds — Adams, McKennie, Aaronson and manager Jesse Marsch — have an uphill battle ahead of them. The club sits one point clear of the relegation zone and has only managed to record four victories from 19 league games.
McKennie said in the interview that the goal is to get as many points as possible in the second half of the EPL season. Leeds are also in the last 16 of the FA Cup and will face either Fulham or Sunderland next.
Two other incoming Leeds transfers took place this winter.
Georginio Rutter broke the club’s all-time transfer record after Leeds paid roughly $43 million for the Hoffenheim center forward. The other arrival was Maximilian Wöber from Red Bull Salzburg. Leeds paid around $13.5 million for the Austrian center back.
