In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldinho revealed that Pep Guardiola, rather than wanting to move forward without the Brazilian star as was believed, actually wanted him to stay before he left for AC Milan.
“When Pep arrived in 2008 he asked to see me,” Ronaldinho said. “I met with him and he said he wanted me in the team, to stay because he was counting on me.
“I appreciated it but I knew that my cycle at Barca had ended and I decided to leave.”
Now, after endless rumors concerning a stint in MLS, China or with Chapecoense, Ronaldinho has finally returned to Barcelona in the form of club ambassador.
A statement from the club says the he’ll appear “at various events and activities over the coming years” as a representative of the club. He’ll also take part in a “Legends project” where he’ll play in friendly matches around the world and help in various clinics.
This will finally be your chance to get sombreroed by Ronnie.
