Aged only 15, top English clubs have already been scouting Rangers teenage sensation and Scotland youth international Billy Gilmour. Gilmour can't legally sign a contract with any team until he's 16, but Chelsea are rumored to have agreed to terms with both player and club.
Gilmour had also grabbed the attention of Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Disregarding all of the great opportunities that have been presented by the English clubs, it's difficult to understand why he'd choose Chelsea given their track record of loaning their young players.
We have seen a common trend with young stars that start in the Premier League versus the Bundesliga. Youth players have been flourishing this season at teams in the Bundesliga. German clubs, such as Borussia Dortmund, are very well known for their successful development of young players in the first team.
Some stand out Bundesliga youngsters are Christian Pulisic, Ousmane Dembélé, Breel Embolo and Timo Werner. Seeing the growth of these players proves that Germany is a great place to start your career and see first team action. If Gilmour plays well and develops to his full ability, a move to the Premier League later in his career would be suitable.
