Perisic Buries Spain With A Late Winner
Potentially one of the biggest roller coaster games to take place in the Euros so far, Spain v. Croatia was a thriller. A 1-1 deadlock would have been broken if Sergio Ramos would have been able to convert from the spot but failed to do so as Danijel Subasic made a strong save to keep Croatia alive. Momentum shifts were evident throughout the game but in the end it was Croatia with the higher inensity and energy that won them the game and Group D. in the 87th minute, a late counter attack led to Perisic streaking down the sideline where he eventually snuck a ball past David De Gea near post. The goal gave the Croatians 3 points and the driver seat in Group D, where they now will wait to see who their opponent is in the knockout rounds. David Silva nearly ruined the Croatian moment at death when he had a dangerous ball cleared from within the 6. None the less, Croatia and Spain both move on, but a special, well deserved moment for the Croatians as they steal Group D.
#CROESP: FT #CRO 2 #ESP 1. Croatia win Group D! Silva's chance at the death is cleared!
