Bicycle kicks don’t come much prettier than Colombia’s game-winner vs. Japan

Colombia defeated Japan 2-1 on Tuesday courtesy of a spectacular game-winning bicycle kick from forward Rafael Borré.

With the scored tied at 1-1 in the 61st minute the Eintracht Frankfurt striker pulled out some incredible skill to give his side the lead. Japan goalkeeper and Illinois native Daniel Schmidt did well to stop an initial Colombian effort, but he couldn’t do anything about Borré’s follow up shot.

Goalkeeper goes coast-to-coast and possibly breaks the record for longest goal ever scored

Cobresal goalkeeper Leandro Requena is over the moon not only because he scored a rare coast-to-coast goal against Chilean giants Colo Colo in a 3-1 win last Saturday, but also because his feat might have broken the record for the longest goal ever scored in professional soccer.

The funny thing is he wasn't even trying.

Rowdy mob of kangaroos are the 12th man during Australia Cup match

We learned all about the goodness of the Australia Cup last year when semi-professional side Sydney United 58 managed to reach the final, and the 2023 edition is off to a flying start in the preliminary rounds.

On Wednesday, Canberra Olympic FC played Tuggeranong United in the Canberra region of qualifying, and the action was so enthralling that a mob of kangaroos watched on from the touchline.

Sorry Austin FC, it's impossible not to cheer for Violette AC on Tuesday

On Tuesday night we get the job done, and by "we" I mean Violette AC and all the CONCACAF Champions League sickos that fell head over heels for the club last Tuesday when they hammered Austin FC 3-0 in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.

Gavi makes history by attempting two head tackles in one game

There are all sorts of stats and accolades that illustrate how talented Gavi is — the Golden Boy award, Spain's youngest goalscorer, the youngest World Cup scorer since Pelé — but he's a phenomenon best experienced live.

The sky might be falling on Barcelona (littered with fake cash featuring the word "MAFIA"), but Gavi's willing to take on that duel. "Lost cause" is not in the 18-year-old's lexicon.
