USWNT’s Kristie Mewis joins fiancée Sam Kerr in Women’s Super League with West Ham transfer

United States women’s national team midfielder and 2023 NWSL Champion Kristie Mewis is taking her talents to London as she leaves Gotham FC to join Women’s Super League (WSL) side West Ham United.

Mewis and Gotham FC mutually parted ways as the 32-year-old will face an entirely new challenge with West Ham who face a relegation battle. The Hammers sit second from last in the WSL table, have one win from 10 games and have the fewest goals scored in the league with eight.

Lindsey Horan receives red card after skirmish with opposing player during Champions League

The Lindsey Horan red card in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday has made the rounds among USWNT fans. The star American was sent off during Lyon’s group stage game vs. Norway’s Brann.

Horan’s red card occurred in the 52nd minute when she was fouled by Brann’s Karoline Haugland. The 29-year-old Colorado native wasn’t pleased about the challenge and gave her opponent a shove.

Tensions continued to rise as words were exchanged with Haugland and then with the referee.

Nottingham Forest fell to Tottenham 2-0 on Friday and many fans are pointing the blame at United States goalkeeper Matt Turner after a massive error.

Turner had produced several important stops in the game to deny Spurs, however the only thing people will remember Friday’s game for was the gaffe in the 65th minute.

Christian Pulisic netted his first Champions League goal in 637 days during AC Milan’s 2-1 victory vs. Newcastle on Wednesday. The result wasn’t enough for Milan to advance to the Round of 16 but did qualify the Italian club for the Europa League knockout playoffs.

In order to advance out of their Champions League group Milan needed to defeat Newcastle and required some help from Borussia Dortmund to best Paris Saint-Germain, however that game ended 1-1.

United States men’s national team and AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun turned provider on Saturday as he assisted both of his side’s goals in a 2-1 Ligue 1 victory vs. Rennes.

Balogun entered the match with just one goal contribution in his last six games for Monaco and needed a solid performance. Monaco signed Balogun for roughly $43 million this summer.

The 22-year-old USMNT star delivered on Saturday this time with his passing rather than goal scoring.

Weston McKennie nearly scored epic bicycle kick for his first goal of the season — Juve defeat Napoli 1-0

TURIN — Juventus delivered an efficient performance as they moved back to provisional top spot in Serie A on Friday, securing a 1-0 home win against a wasteful Napoli thanks to a header from Federico Gatti.

Juve had their best chance of the first half when Dusan Vlahovic's close-range attempt was blocked by Natan, and Weston McKennie's subsequent rebound with an overhead kick was denied by Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.

Christian Pulisic scores his first Milan goal in two months with fabulous effort vs. Frosinone

Christian Pulisic got himself back on the scoresheet for AC Milan on Saturday with a sensational goal during his side’s 3-1 Serie A victory vs. Frosinone.

The assist came from an unlikely source as goalkeeper Mike Maignan supplied the ball for Pulisic.

In the 50th minute the USMNT No. 10 doubled the lead for the hosts and displayed his incredible ball control. Maignan looped a ball over the Frosinone defense and Pulisic expertly controlled the ball then finished with a clever chipped shot.

Ricardo Pepi scored his first ever Champions League goal on Wednesday and it couldn’t have come at a better time as he headed in the game-winning goal during PSV’s group stage game vs. Sevilla.

A rough start for PSV saw the Dutch club down 2-0 on the road in Seville and needing a miracle. That wish was granted with Lucas Ocampos getting sent off for Sevilla in the 66th minute which completely shifted the momentum.

PSV clawed back to make it 2-2 but were searching for a winner.

Injury-riddled Milan forced to call up a 15-year-old to help in attack

AC Milan's injury problems in attack have opened the door for teenager Francesco Camarda who was called up to the squad to face Fiorentina and the 15-year-old has the talent to overcome his young age, manager Stefano Pioli said on Friday.

Rafael Leão was substituted with a hamstring injury early in Milan's last game with Lecce and is still sidelined, and his replacement in that game, Noah Okafor, suffered a thigh injury while on international duty with Switzerland.
