To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Manchester United’s historic treble-winning season, a Man United Legends vs. Bayern Munich Legends (a rematch of the 1999 Champions League Final) friendly was held at Old Trafford today, featuring the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lothar Matthaus, Ze Roberto and Ivica Olic. 

United hammered the visitors 5-0 thanks to goals from Solskjaer, Dwight Yorke, Nicky Butt, Louis Saha and Beckham.

Bayern Munich defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 in the final of the DFB-Pokal on Saturday to secure a domestic double for the first time since 2015-16 (Pep Guardiola’s last season at the club). The goals included a brilliant brace from Robert Lewandowski and a sensational solo effort from Kingsley Coman, but Manuel Neuer also provided two stunning saves while making his first appearance since suffering a calf injury on Apr. 14.

Christian Pulisic played his final match for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The 20-year-old American will join Chelsea after agreeing to a deal in January that included loaning the winger back to the Bundesliga. Pulisic provided a neat assist to help Dortmund win, but Die Schwarzgelben fell just short in their quest to dethrone Bayern Munich.

Instead, the day belonged to two other players on their way out: Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

At 12:30 p.m. ET, Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund in a meeting that’ll go a long way toward deciding the Bundesliga title. That match will be broadcast on FOX, and it’ll lead directly in to coverage of Wayne Rooney’s D.C. United hosting Carlos Vela’s Los Angeles FC.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal second legs were held across Europe today, and the field has now been trimmed to four after some truly captivating matches between the continent’s biggest clubs.

After defeating Norwegian side LSK Kvinner 3-0 in the first leg, Barcelona took care of business in Lillestrøm by opening the scoring in the seventh minute to doom any hopes of a Kvinner comeback. Barca has advanced to the semis in two of the last three seasons, but the club has never made it to the final. 

18-year-old Canadian phenom Alphonso Davies scored his first Bundesliga goal for Bayern Munich on Sunday, coming on as a substitute in the club’s 6-0 hammering of Mainz 05 at the Allianz Arena and completing the scoring.

A James Rodriguez hat-trick alongside goals from Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman had given Bayern a 5-0 lead when Davies came on for David Alaba in the 59th minute. 

After playing to a scoreless draw at Anfield, Liverpool’s trip to Bayern Munich looked like a scary proposition for a side that had yet to win away from home in the Champions League this season.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side shrugged off its road woes with one of the most impressive performances of the Champions League this year, crushing Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Wednesday.
