Javier Hernandez's Brilliant Header Puts Chile To The Sword

Javier Hernandez celebrated his birthday in fine style on Wednesday, netting the winning goal for Mexico against Chile in their final warm-up game before the Copa America Centenario.

With the scores level at 0-0, Hernandez, who turned 28 on the day, entered the match in the 78th minute. It took him all of eight minutes to snatch the victory for El Tri, his powerful header giving Chile’s goalkeeper, Cristopher Toselli, absolutely no chance.

Bayer Leverkusen and Mexico National Team striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is already having the best club season of his professional career, and it just keeps getting better for the Little Pea. 

Leverkusen found themselves losing 2-0 to Schalke 04 early in the second half Saturday before scoring three goals in six minutes to capture a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Chicharito got the third, which proved to be the eventual winner.

Chicharito and Marco Fabian Face Off In A "Mexican Skype Duel"

Childhood friends Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Marco Fabian had a so-called Mexican Skype Duel, courtesy of the Bundesliga's official YouTube account. Hernandez and Fabian grew up in the Chivas Guadalajara youth system together, and have been reunited this season in the Bundesliga, at Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

It's not exactly a secret that Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez has been having a great year for Bayer Leverkusen, but even we didn't realize he was having by far his best season ever.

Current United manager Louis van Gaal clearly didn't want Hernandez in the squad and told him there was very little chance of him playing striker for United. Hernendez was sent to Germany, where he has lit the world on fire (23 goals so far this season in all competitions).

OK, first the bad news: Bayer Leverkusen lost 3-1 to Mainz 05 Sunday. The good news: that one goal happened to be scored by recently-returned-from-injury striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

Hernandez now has 23 goals in all competitions for Leverkusen, and 14 in the Bundesliga.

Chicharito Got An Assist In His Second Game Back From Injury

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez hurt his butt a while back, but he's back in action and, two games into his comeback, he's already setting up goals. 

Hernandez set up Karim Bellarabi's first goal (of two), and Bayer Leverkusen went on to beat Portuguese side Sporting CP 3-1 and advance to the Europa League round of 16.
