Wondolowski nets hat trick, plays keeper at TST after Luis Robles suffers nasty shiner

There are plenty of interesting teams to watch at The Soccer Tournament, but one of the most star-studded is certainly Team Dempsey (although USMNT legend Clint Dempsey only serves as the head coach in flip-flops).

On Thursday, they began play at the 7-on-7 tournament with a starting lineup that had Luis Robles in goal (three USMNT caps), Jermaine Jones in midfield (69 USMNT caps), Eddie Johnson out wide (63 USMNT caps) and Chris Wondolowski up top (35 USMNT caps). Jaime Lozano (34 Mexico caps) was on the bench.

U.S. Women suffer 5-0 defeat in their TST opener against Say Word FC

The Soccer Tournament (TST) kicked off on Thursday and saw the U.S. Women open their tournament with a 5-0 defeat to Say Word FC.

The U.S. Women team coached by Mia Hamm is the only team consisting of just women on the roster and features household names like Heather O’Reilly, Kristine Lilly and more.

Brek Shea and Geoff Cameron speak about playing at TST, retirement and their new project

Brek Shea and Geoff Cameron announced the end of their professional careers at the beginning of May, but soccer is still part of their lives and will continue to be. In fact, both will be playing for Blade & Grass FC, one of the 32 teams at TST, the fascinating 7v7 soccer tournament that kicks off the summer.

River Plate unveils statue in honor of Marcelo Gallardo – fans can't stop talking about the giant bulge in his pants

Here's the thing: Artists don't know how to create a proper statue of a soccer player, or those who try are not very talented. I mean, there are far too many examples of baller tributes becoming absolute fiascos, with the classic Cristiano Ronaldo bust leading the way.

Mexican legend Hugo Sánchez rumored to become San Diego’s first-ever MLS coach

San Diego is officially the newest team in MLS and as they prepare to make their professional debut in 2025, the franchise is rumored to have contacted the best Concacaf player of all time to manage their squad.

Team Ronaldinho vs. Team Roberto Carlos friendly scheduled for June in Orlando

This is the summer that dreams come true. Do you want to watch Wrexham, the club you've supported your entire life (since 2020)? The MLS All-Stars against Arsenal? Any interest in El Clásico?

4K video of Pelé assisting Carlos Alberto at 1970 World Cup has people asking if Brazil were that good

One of the more iconic goals in World Cup history came during the final between Brazil and Italy in 1970. In the 86th minute Pelé assisted Carlos Alberto who lasered the ball into the bottom corner to put the cherry on top of a triumphant 4-1 victory.

As someone who wouldn’t be born until over two decades later, I had only ever seen this goal in shoddy quality on YouTube.

Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley, Hope Solo among National Soccer Hall of Fame inductions

The National Soccer Hall of Fame inducted its 2023 class and a belated member of the 2022 class with U.S. team members Landon Donovan and Hope Solo among the inclusions Saturday in Frisco, Texas.

The full list of athletes and contributors honored included Donovan, Solo, DaMarcus Beasley, Lauren Cheney Holiday, Kate Sobrero Markgraf, Jill Ellis and Slavisa "Steve" Zungul.

The Soccer Tournament: Why I love this 7-on-7 gimmick and you should too

The hype is growing around The Soccer Tournament (TST) — brainchild of the folks behind the increasingly popular The Basketball Tournament (TBT) — but I don't think anyone's talking about it nearly enough.

On June 1, 32 teams will descend on WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, for a four-day tournament with the winners taking home $1 million. It's certainly not your traditional soccer tournament with different rules, procedures and a collection of squads comprised of legends, professionals, up-and-coming talents, amateurs, viral street sensations and everyone in-between.

Christian Benteke scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season on a sensational bicycle kick and streaking D.C. United pulled away to a 3-0 victory over visiting Charlotte FC on Saturday night.

Taxiarchis Fountas also scored from the penalty spot for his second goal in as many games as D.C. (4-4-2, 14 points) won its third straight and its first at home since the opening weekend of the season.
