Arsenal's Premier League troubles intensified as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home by lowly Burnley on Sunday with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring an own goal after Granit Xhaka was sent off.

Game week 9 of the FA Women’s Super League came to a close on Sunday, and it was a massive weekend for USWNT stars in the division as Tobin Heath helped Manchester United stay top, Alex Morgan converted from the spot for Tottenham and Sam Mewis scored in Manchester City’s massive clash with Arsenal.

Man United remains undefeated after a 2-1 victory over Reading. Heath went the full 90 and delivered the corner in the 83rd minute that was eventually turned home by Hayley Ladd for the win. 

Tottenham played a Premier League match today against (INSERT OPPONENT HERE) Crystal Palace, allowing Harry Kane and Son Heung-min to utilize their strength of telepathic communication in the (FINAL OUTCOME HERE) 1-1 draw. 

It was almost certainly another José Mourinho mind game master class in counter attacking excellence, although questions will be asked of his negative approach with regards to the moments in the game when he perhaps could’ve been more positive.  

Mesut Özil hasn’t featured in an Arsenal game since March 7. The German midfielder has been shunned from the first team and was even left out of the Gunners’ Premier League and Europa League squads. With no playing time in sight, perhaps an Özil MLS move could happen in the near future.

According to an ESPN source, the 32-year-old said he is open to the idea of playing in the U.S. with an MLS club. His ludicrous £350,000-per-week contract with Arsenal ends in the summer, meaning a free transfer to MLS would be a real possibility.

Premier League rivalries are all about bone-rattling challenges, blistering attacks and scorching intensity. The Manchester Derby had none of those things on Saturday. What did we do to deserve such a tepid, boring match between two of the richest clubs in the world?

Manchester United and Manchester City played a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Old Trafford, and I can’t remember a more dreary, uninteresting clash between these two famous sides. 

Wednesday was a pretty good day for Americans playing for Manchester City in the Champions League. Sam Mewis popped up for a late winner as the women’s team beat Göteborg 2-1. Then Zack Steffen became the third American goalkeeper to start in the men’s UCL when he recorded a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Marseille. 

Jamie Vardy was ecstatic after he scored a last-minute goal against Sheffield United on Sunday. The Leicester striker was so thrilled that he celebrated by absolutely obliterating Bramall Lane’s corner flag. On Wednesday, the Vardy corner flag saga had a heart-warming twist as he gifted the flag to Leicester’s LGBTQ+ supporter group.

CAIRO — Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been fined $10,000 for social media posts that tarnished the "honour and image" of the Confederation of African Football after his Gabon team spent the night on an airport floor ahead of an African Cup of Nations qualifier last month.

Aubameyang and his team mates were stuck at the airport in the Gambia after arriving for a qualifying game. They were not allowed to leave as officials argued over COVID-19 testing.
