Turner Sports is having a first go at broadcasting the Champions League in the U.S. Its first week came with mixed reviews (mostly negative), but a bizarre TNT Champions League outage in the first half of the Manchester United-Valencia match on Tuesday was by far the worst transgression as a broadcaster of the Champions League.
Manchester City scraped by Hoffenheim and its young 31-year-old manager for a 2-1 win on Tuesday in the Champions League. The Citizens scored a late winner through David Silva, but that the match was even close to begin with comes down to the play of the two goalkeepers involved — a play each, to be precise.

Manchester City put an end to Birmingham City’s unbeaten start to the 2018-19 FA Women’s Super League by defeating the Blues 3-2 Sunday, but the Citizens had to claw back from an early deficit after Abbie McManus skipped one over the head of goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck on a 50-yard back pass.
The good news for McManus is that this is still classified as being Beckham-esque, so there's absolutely no shame here.
When the time comes, the 2018 MLS MVP award will almost certainly go to Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez. However, it says everything about the impact Wayne Rooney has had since arriving at D.C. United back in July that he’s even being mentioned in the conversation.

Surely the Glazers are asking themselves this very question as they’ve now watched Manchester United stoop to its joint worst ever start to a Premier League season just days after losing to a Championship side in the League Cup.
