Man U Beats Liverpool Despite No Possession, Impossible Own Goal

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United rarely had the ball and rarely attacked. The Red Devils gave up an own goal that looked impossible to score. And yet the Manchester United vs Liverpool match never seemed in doubt for the home side at Old Trafford, with a Marcus Rashford brace powering a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Liverpool dominated in all the stats that don’t matter: possession (68-32 percent), shots (14-5) and corner kicks (13-1). But a couple of unimaginative, Route 1 attacks in the opening half hour were all Manchester United needed to secure victory.

Danny Welbeck Hits One So Poorly That He Almost Snaps His Own Foot In Half

Danny Welbeck is part of the pantheon of great English forwards who do not score goals. That’d seem to be a terrible oxymoron, but you forget that supporters love a grafter. If you had to rely on one striker to effectively man-mark a center back out of a match, it’d be Danny Welbeck.

I don’t know why you’d ever employ that tactic, but that’s the highest praise I can bestow on Welbeck.

Nobody Will Kill Your Hopes And Dreams Quite Like Juventus

Tottenham had this. For 60 minutes of play, Tottenham deserved this ... but Juventus aren’t here for your sentimental nonsense.

Spurs landed five shots on target in the first half — nobody does that to Juventus. Son Heung-min looked razor sharp. Harry Kane was bossing Giorgio Chiellini. Paulo Dybala was about to get roasted on the spit of a thousand different hot takes. Only Andrea Barzagli was doing fun, wily veteran things.

Manchester City Lose Match They Were Not Taking At All Seriously

Here is the play that most sums up the Manchester City-Basel Champions League tie:

What Is Pep Guardiola Yelling About In This Video?

There are generally two ways to celebrate an amazingly great thing happening in one's life.

The first way is a celebration that is wild but contained enough to retain the appearance of responsible adulthood. This is generally reserved for adult-type happy occasions such as engagements, weddings, promotions, raises, job offers, grad school acceptances, etc.

The second is this:

Jonah Hill

This is how Pep Guardiola celebrated when Manchester City beat Chelsea.

Did We Just Witness Iker Casillas’s Final UEFA Champions League Match?

No player has appeared more in the UEFA Champions League than FC Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Today, the 36-year-old shot-stopper made his 167th appearance in the competition in Porto’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool (ultimately a 5-0 aggregate win for the Reds).

Casillas also holds the Champions League clean sheet record, a mark he improved to 59 today.

A Nemanja Matic Stoppage Time Screamer Propels Man U To Epic Comeback Against Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace vs. Manchester United was a riveting EPL match.

We can even say it clearly exemplified why we love the Premier League so much. There were exhilarating goals, lots of drama and an epic Manchester United comeback thanks to a Nemanja Matic goal.
