Pro Tennis Match Turns Into Impressive Soccer Tennis Midpoint

The French love their soccer. They won the World Cup last summer and, as current hosts, are among the favorites to lift the Women’s World Cup this summer.

Even the country’s tennis stars are catching football fever.

During a recent first-round match at the Noventi Open in Germany, Frenchmen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Benoit Paire showed off some impressive soccer skills on Tuesday.

Paire lost his racket on the serve and didn’t have time to pick it up before Tsonga’s return. So Paire, midpoint, switched the game to soccer tennis.

The New Opening Title Sequence For The Champions League Is Here

It’s hard to believe, but the UEFA Champions League returns in one week! So it’s only the preliminary round, featuring the likes of Lincoln Red Imps and Tre Penne, but a new season means a new opening title sequence for television.

As always, it features the glorious Champions League anthem, a lot of the logo and last year’s winner (Liverpool) lifting the trophy. Things begin with Douglas Costa’s brutal elastico nutmeg on Ajax’s Joël Veltman and they really heat up with Porto’s Moussa Marega pulling a Zidane Turn on Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Thailand Lost 5-1, But That One Goal Meant Everything

The draw for the 2019 Women’s World Cup really couldn’t have been unkinder for Thailand. Not only did the world’s 34th-ranked side land the defending world champion, they also got the last team to defeat the USWNT at a major international tournament, Sweden.

Things, of course, got off to a historically bad start when surrendering 13 unanswered goals to the U.S. to begin group play, and things weren’t looking pretty again today when trailing Sweden 4-0 in the 81st minute.

Classy Japan Fans Clean Up Stadium After Dusting Scotland

What amount of responsibility do spectators have to clean up after themselves? It’s something anyone who attends a sporting event, movie or concert must ask themselves: Do I dispose of my trash after the show is over or leave it for others to pick up?

I’d rather not guess what percentage of people leave their trash at their seats — I’d wager it’s quite high, based on what I’ve personally witnessed in the U.S. What I can say is that fans of Japan’s men’s and women’s national teams are certainly not ones to leave trash to others.

Thailand Goalkeeper Sends Note Of Thanks To Carli Lloyd For Kindness After 13-0 Defeat

Sukanya Chor Charoenying had the worst day at the office ever for a World Cup netminder. The Thailand goalkeeper saw 13 goals fly past her as the U.S. women’s national team ran rampant in their Group F Women’s World Cup opener on Tuesday.

The Best Moment Of USWNT Beating Thailand Actually Came Off The Pitch

The U.S. women national team’s 13-0 thrashing of Thailand was nothing short of incredible. Behind Alex Morgan’s record five goals, the USWNT set the record for most goals scored in a single World Cup game

Despite all the goals that poured in — and there were a lot — the best moments of the match for the U.S. didn’t come on the pitch, but in the stands.

Santi Cazorla’s Uplifting Message Is The Motivation All Old People Need

After a minor injury that spiraled into 10 operations, an infection that ate away at his tendon and threatened foot amputation, a skin graft that resulted in part of his left arm tattoo moving to his right foot and ultimately, a spell of 636 days without football, Santi Cazorla made a remarkable comeback with Villarreal last season, appearing in 46 matches, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists.
