Liga MX Suspends Querétaro Matches After Brawl Injures 26 People

MEXICO CITY - Mexico's soccer league on Sunday said it would suspend upcoming matches at a stadium in the central city of Querétaro where violent clashes left two dozen people injured and restrict visiting fans from attending away games.

The brutal attacks among spectators during the Querétaro-Atlas match on Saturday sent 26 people, mostly men, to hospital with three people in critical condition.

Barbaric, senseless and horrific scenes took place at Estadio Corregidor between Querétaro and Atlas fans on Saturday that has reportedly left fans dead. Mixed reporting has come in Saturday evening with one report claiming that 17 people have been killed due to fan violence. Other reports say people have been taken to the hospital but no mention of deaths.

Manchester City said they were "shocked and appalled" by an attack on midfielder Phil Foden and his family after a video appeared to show them involved in a scuffle at Saturday's fight between Amir Khan and Kell Brook at the Manchester Arena.

Footage circulated on social media showed Foden, 21, reacting to an altercation between his family and a group of men in one of the corridors inside the building, where Brook won through a sixth-round stoppage.
