Goalkeeping Errors And Missed PKs: Man Utd Frustrates Again

Manchester United had, perhaps, the most impressive opening weekend of any Premier League club, routing Chelsea 4-0. Since then, it’s been one frustration after another.

The Red Devils were held to a draw on Monday after Paul Pogba missed a penalty kick. On Saturday, United again missed a penalty and David De Gea made another baffling mistake as Crystal Palace beat Manchester United in the top flight for the first time since 1991.

Carlos Vela Scores One Of The Most Demeaning Goals In MLS History

LAFC moved one step closer to securing the top seed in the Western Conference — and the MLS Supporters’ Shield — following a 4-0 beatdown of rivals San Jose on Wednesday night at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. Diego Rossi opened the scoring in the sixth minute, Carlos Vela registered a brace by the 41st and Joshua Pérez put the finishing touches on an emphatic victory.

Vela’s first arrived from the penalty spot in the 17th, but it’s his outrageous solo goal in the 41st-minute that could have a shout at the MLS Goal of the Year Award.

Incredible Long-Range Effort Keeps Copa Libertadores Dream Alive For Palmeiras

No club has won the Brasileirão more than Palmeiras, which makes it odd that five Brazilian clubs — São Paulo, Grêmio, Santos, Cruzeiro and Internacional — have all achieved more success in South America’s premier club competition, the Copa Libertadores. Palmeiras has only won the title once, and that happened all the way back in 1999.

PSG’s Shock Upset Engineered By The Hands Of A 16-Year-Old Wonderkid

Before yesterday’s Ligue 1 match between defending champion PSG and Rennes at Roazhon Park, all of the talk was centered around Neymar’s complete absence from the squad. After the match, the only name being mentioned was that of 16-year-old Rennes defensive midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

Camavinga only made his senior debut last April — going on to total seven Ligue 1 appearances last campaign — but he was instrumental in his side’s shock 2-1 upset of PSG last night.

Union Berlin’s First-Ever Bundesliga Match Includes 15-Minute Silent Protest Aimed At RB Leipzig

Union Berlin made its Bundesliga debut on Sunday afternoon, and not even a 4-0 beatdown from rivals RB Leipzig could dampen the mood at the Alte Försterei in East Berlin.

Referee Gets Stuck In Traffic, Misses Christian Pulisic’s Home Debut

Christian Pulisic’s first Premier League start and Stamford Bridge debut wasn’t exactly the stuff of dreams. The 20-year-old American lasted 71 ineffective minutes against Leicester City before being swapped for Willian with the score level at 1-1, which is how it would end.

Pulisic spent his time on the pitch in the pocket of Leicester right back Ricardo Pereira. The Portugal international was Leicester’s Player of the Season last campaign, and with support provided by Ayoze Pérez out wide, Pulisic completed only one of five dribbles while getting dispossessed six times.

Zlatan Ibrahimović’s Brace Undone By Comical LA Galaxy Own Goal

Another Zlatan Ibrahimović brace — giving him four goals in four days after scoring two against FC Dallas last Wednesday — wasn't enough to power the LA Galaxy beyond Western Conference rival Seattle on Saturday night. The Sounders earned a dramatic point after a comical own goal from Jørgen Skjelvik in the 82nd minute.

Christian Pulisic Terrorizes Liverpool Defense In First Half Of UEFA Super Cup

After being forced to start his Chelsea career on the bench during last Sunday’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League, Christian Pulisic made his first-ever competitive start for the Blues in Wedne

Pretty Sure Pogba Told Pulisic He’s The Best Player He’s Ever Played Against

With Chelsea trailing Manchester United 1-0 on an early penalty that was earned largely against the run of play, Frank Lampard subbed on Christian Pulisic for his Premier League debut in the 58th minute to turn the tide. Nine minutes later, United’s lead stood at 3-0.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Lovely Two-Touch Finish Gives Arsenal A Winning Start

A meeting between two Premier League sides trending in a dangerous direction proved as insipid as all that on Sunday afternoon at St James’ Park in Newcastle. A quality finish from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following a pathetic Newcastle United turnover was the difference in a match that felt like preseason and was largely overshadowed by a foul mood permeating from the Gallowgate End of the ground.
