Germany has had its fair share of legendary players. The two-time Women’s World Cup champion has produced some of the tournament’s greatest all-time players, from Heidi Mohr to Birgit Prinz. Giulia Gwinn might be the next in that list after her rocket goal gave Germany a 1-0 win over China on Saturday.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Manchester United’s historic treble-winning season, a Man United Legends vs. Bayern Munich Legends (a rematch of the 1999 Champions League Final) friendly was held at Old Trafford today, featuring the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lothar Matthaus, Ze Roberto and Ivica Olic. 

United hammered the visitors 5-0 thanks to goals from Solskjaer, Dwight Yorke, Nicky Butt, Louis Saha and Beckham.

Bayern Munich defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 in the final of the DFB-Pokal on Saturday to secure a domestic double for the first time since 2015-16 (Pep Guardiola’s last season at the club). The goals included a brilliant brace from Robert Lewandowski and a sensational solo effort from Kingsley Coman, but Manuel Neuer also provided two stunning saves while making his first appearance since suffering a calf injury on Apr. 14.

The finale of Game of Thrones is Sunday night, an end to the dramatic arc that has taken eight years to reach its climax. Fans of the HBO series have seen despicable characters made lovable, lovable characters become hated and sorrowful figures become legend. But Game of Thrones has got nothing on what SC Paderborn 07 has been through, ending with an unlikely third Paderborn promotion in six seasons on Sunday. 

Christian Pulisic played his final home match in front of Borussia Dortmund’s magnificent Yellow Wall on Saturday. The American 20-year-old will play for Chelsea come next fall, but he gave his home fans for the last four years a little parting gift against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Pulisic opened the scoring with a diving head in the first half as Dortmund held on to a crucial 3-2 victory. Combined with RB Leipzig’s 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich, BVB is now two points back of the defending champions with one match to play.

Everyone knows the famous boxing photograph of a victorious Muhammad Ali towering over the vanquished Sonny Liston. It’s an image that screams pride, power and the futility of attempting to fight the sport’s GOAT. During today’s Europa League semifinal second leg between Chelsea and Eintracht Frankfurt, we got a recreation of that famous moment, except Ali was substituted for Kepa Arrizabalaga (who refuses to be substituted himself) and Liston for a soccer ball.
