Former Chapecoense goalkeeper Jakson Follmann, one of six survivors of the LaMia Airlines Flight 2933 disaster, took part in a friendly benefit match between the “Amigos do Tite” (Brazil’s national team manager) and “Amigos do Carille” (the manager of Brazilian club Corinthians) last week.    

Dylan Vente, an 18-year-old forward for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, scored what may be the coolest goal of the past weekend on Sunday. Vente didn’t just score his first career goal, he scored a goal that was nearly identical to one scored by his grandfather’s brother 80 years earlier — also for Feyenoord. 

Vente’s goal was the second in a 7-0 rout of Sparta Rotterdam. The teenager met a looping cross and headed it the ball over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. 

Three years ago, Beats by Dre won the advertising battle at the World Cup without even sponsoring the event. With the likes of Neymar, Chicharito, Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez all rocking the headphones, FIFA was forced to ban the noise canceling contraptions to protect the event’s official audio sponsor, Sony. 

Even still, Beats by Dre’s “The Game Before The Game” advert was probably the best spot at the World Cup. 

Francesco Totti’s farewell last May was an emotional moment for any fan of soccer, let alone Roma and Italy fans who watched him play for a full quarter century. Roma made a video commemorating Totti’s final match with the Giallorossi and on Tuesday night “A Stadium of Tears” won a 2017 Sportel Award for Best Slow Motion video.
