El nuevo Mundial de Clubes tendrá 32 equipos y se jugará cada cuatro años

El presidente de la FIFA Gianni Infantino anunció que el Mundial de Clubes cambiará su formato de manera drástica a partir de 2025.

Actualmente, el torneo se realiza anualmente y lo disputan siete equipos, incluyendo los seis campeones de las confederaciones que pertenecen a la FIFA y un club del país anfitrión. Dicha fórmula será la que también se aplicará en la edición 2022 que se disputará en Marruecos entre el 1 y el 11 de febrero de 2023, con Seattle Sounders representando a la Concacaf.
