On Friday, Liverpool FC defender Mamadou Sakho was named in a UEFA investigation concerning a possible anti-doping violation.

Bayer Leverkusen and Mexico National Team striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is already having the best club season of his professional career, and it just keeps getting better for the Little Pea. 

Leverkusen found themselves losing 2-0 to Schalke 04 early in the second half Saturday before scoring three goals in six minutes to capture a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Chicharito got the third, which proved to be the eventual winner.

Barcelona have been in a bad way (for them) recently. They sandwiched two league losses around a stunning loss to Atletico Madrid that bounced them from the Champions League (after having won the first leg). The momentum changed Wednesday, when Luis Suarez apparently decided he had had enough, and took his frustration out on the hapless Deportivo la Coruna, to the tune of four goals and three assists.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Neymar is 24 years old, and it’s just as easy to forget just how immature that age really is. Yes, there are plenty of footballers around the world who show maturity beyond their years at that age, but unlike Neymar they aren’t really worth mentioning. Neymar is ungodly talented, that much is clear, but he is the finished product.

Lionel Messi may have gotten knocked out of the Champions League this year, but he earned a different kind of title that is sure to make him happy. Lionel Messi is the highest paid footballer in soccer – which makes him one of the highest paid athletes in the world.

Lionel Messi reportedly earned $83.4 million (€74 million, or £59.3 million) in 2015, which placed him higher than Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, the #2 and #3 highest earning footballers, respectively. Neymar earned $49 million in 2015, while Ronaldo earned $76 million.

The digital editors over at MLS have created an astounding compilation video comprised of each MLS team’s best goal ever. The video includes goals from all 20 current MLS clubs, as well as the best from the now defunct Chivas USA, Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny.

Entering its 21st season, MLS may not have as large of a selection size as the Premier League or La Liga (especially so for clubs like New York City FC, Orlando City SC and the Montreal Impact) but there are some absolute beauties in this mix.

Pep Guardiola has hopped on the banter bus after his Bayern Munich side defeated SL Benfica in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. 

Cristiano Ronaldo had previously said that he would love to play Benfica in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Ronaldo is Portuguese and Benfica is based in the capital city of Portugal, Lisbon. Clearly, playing in Lisbon for Real Madrid against Benfica would have been a glorious moment for Ronaldo.
