MLS MVP Carles Gil On Playing In Snow: This Is Not Fútbol, Stop The F***ing Game

Reigning MLS MVP Carles Gil didn't hide his feelings after the New England Revolution dropped a 3-2 decision to visiting Real Salt Lake in snowy conditions on Saturday in Foxborough, Mass.

Heavy snow fell in the first half before windy conditions became more prevalent in the second. New England saw a 2-0 lead evaporate after the bottom fell out in the second half. Real Salt Lake halved the deficit in the 78th minute, forged a tie in the 88th minute and pulled ahead in stoppage time.

Gil, the Revolution's captain, wasn't at a loss for words after the match.

¡Hostias, Tío! ¿De Dónde Salió Ese Acento Español De Héctor Herrera?

¡Uy!

MLS Launches Historic Partnership With Black Banks; Here’s Why It Matters

Black Players for Change formed in response to nationwide protests following the murder of George Floyd by a police officer in 2020. An independent organization of more than 170 players, coaches and staff in Major League Soccer, the BPC aims to “bridge the racial equality gap” in American society.

On Thursday, MLS announced one of the organization’s biggest wins yet, a $25 million loan from a syndicate of Black banks. The landmark deal will help bridge that racial economic gap in ways never done before in American professional sports.

NYCFC Playing A ‘Home’ Game In Front Of Thousands Of Opposing Fans Shows MLS Still Has A Ways To Go

NYCFC defeated Comunicaciones 3-1 in a solid performance, however the fan situation was a brutal reminder that Major League Soccer is not yet where it needs to be. Take a look at the crowd’s reaction when the visitors equalized in the 60th minute.
