Taylor Twellman Discusses Becoming A Broadcaster, Growing MLS And That Epic USMNT Rant

There are many who remember Taylor Twellman for being a prolific forward for the New England Revolution, winning MLS MVP honors and the Golden Boot in 2005. These days, however, most people know Twellman as “the guy who’s always yelling about soccer.”

ESPN and MLS broadcaster Taylor Twellman recently sat down with former MLS players Bobby Warshaw and Calen Carr to talk about how he went from hating the media as a player to becoming one of the most visible soccer media members in the United States in an enlightening video released by MLS on Wednesday.

MLS Makes Austin FC Official, Complete With Start Date Right Around The Corner

Austin FC had a name, a logo and a stadium. Now it’s officially the 27th Major League franchise. As for when will Austin FC start play in MLS, the league announced Tuesday that it will be just in time for its new stadium to open.

Clint Dempsey Quote

It is challenging but the more positions you start to play and develop in as a player, the better you get and the more adaptable a player you can be to more teams. Alphonso Davies In Line For Bayern Action After Impressing Teammates And Coach In Doha

Bayern Munich has only just returned from winter break training in Doha, Qatar, where 18-year-old Alphonso Davies got his first taste of action with the Bavarian giants. The $22 million Canadian international had a breakthrough 2018 with the Vancouver Whitecaps — scoring eight goals, being named to the MLS All-Star Game and receiving Vancouver’s Player of the Year award — and his immense talent has already impressed the likes of Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Niklas Sule and, most importantly, boss Niko Kovac.

According To The Philadelphia Union, The MLS SuperDraft Is Dead

As has been well-documented, the emergence of signing young international players with Targeted Allocation Money and the increased regularity of moving Homegrown Players up the ranks has made the MLS SuperDraft less meaningful than ever (not that signing a 22-year-old who’s spent the last four years playing a three-month long season was ever a recipe for success). That’s not to say that a few of the 2019 selections won’t contribute in meaningful ways, but it’s just that — a few.

Philadelphia Union Announce 2019 Schedule With Office Space-Inspired Video

The 2019 schedule for Major League Soccer — which will be its 24th season — was released Monday (including the MLS 2019 TV schedule on ESPN), with action beginning on March 2. There’s a lot to get excited about beginning with Day 1, including FC Cincinnati’s inaugural game (away to the Sounders at 10 p.m. ET on FS1), Wayne Rooney’s D.C. United hosting defending champion Atlanta (6 p.m.
