We can’t decide which looked worse: Kylian Mbappé’s miss or Landon Donovan’s hair

France secured an unconvincing 1-0 victory vs. Austria on Monday and two moments really stood out. One was an unusual Kylian Mbappé miss and the other was an even more shocking Landon Donovan hair on air.

Monday’s game was Donovan and broadcast partner Ian Darke’s third game in charge of this Euros. Fans hardly, if at all, got to see the two men in the broadcast booth during the first games. They were on the screen on Monday and good goly Donovan’s hair was something.

Watch: Christian Eriksen scores on his Euro return three years after suffering a cardiac arrest

You couldn’t write a script like this. The Christian Eriksen goal vs Slovenia during Denmark’s opening Euro game on Sunday was the stuff out of movies.

Three years ago, Eriksen was fighting for his life after collapsing on the field during Denmark’s opening game of Euro 2020. The soccer world was in shock as Eriksen was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the incredible and quick medical staff who saved his life.

WHY?! — Dutch manager Ronald Koeman caught eating his own boogers in Poland-Netherlands

Koeman is going band-for-band with Joachim Löw. And not exactly for their managerial skills.

The Netherlands won their first three points after coming back and defeating Poland 2-1 in the first match of Group D on Sunday.

Poland’s Adam Bursa opened the scoring in the first 15 minutes of the game, with the Netherlands turning the game around through Cody Gakpo and the clutch-substitute Wout Weghorst just seven minutes before the end of the match.

Watch: Thousands of Dutch fans take over the streets of Hamburg with amazing celebrations

The European Championship never fails to bring out the best of soccer fandom. We’ve seen Albanians destroying spaghetti to torment Italians and now we have a viral Netherlands fans dancing in street video ahead of their opener vs. Poland.

When we say “dancing in street” we don’t mean a large group of people doing their own moves. We’re talking about thousands of fans in sync turning the streets of Hamburg into an orange mass moving in unison.

Saturday’s festivities began with a viral video of an Albania fan breaking spaghetti in front of Italy fans. That was a declaration of war.

The video spread like wildfire across the internet as the precious pasta of Italia was destroyed for all to see.

Watch: Croatia goal disallowed after player runs into box too early during penalty kick

Spain bested Croatia 3-0 on Saturday in a game where everything went wrong for the boys wearing red and white. A good summary of Croatia’s game was a disallowed goal late in the second half during a penalty kick.

Trailing 3-0, Croatia were given a lifeline with a penalty kick after Rodri brought down Bruno Petkovic who was about to score. Rodri escaped with just a yellow card.

Watch: Embolo’s leg brace comes off while scoring winner for Switzerland

The Euro is already capturing one-of-a-kind moments.

Switzerland were able to snatch their first three points of Euro 2024 after defeating Hungary in a very entertaining start to the trio of group stage matches on Saturday, with Swiss striker Breel Embolo scoring one of the most peculiar goals you’ll see in the tournament.

FOX’s ‘Summer of Soccer’ begins with bass fishing instead of showing Switzerland vs. Hungary

FOX is broadcasting this summer’s European Championship and Copa América, bragging about showing the “Summer of Soccer.” Too bad they didn’t show literally the second game of the Euros.

American fans woke up Saturday morning expecting to tune into Group A’s second match between Switzerland and Hungary. Little did fans realize that the game was streaming exclusively on Fubo.

That’s right. FOX decided there just wasn’t any room on Fox, Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2 to show the SECOND GAME OF THE EUROS.

Lionel Messi scores easiest goal of his career with Guatemalan gift from goalkeeper

Argentina defeated Guatemala 4-1 Friday night at FedEx Field near Washington D.C. in a friendly with Lionel Messi scoring twice. The first Messi goal vs Guatemala came after a terrible goalkeeper blunder and gave the Inter Miami star the easiest goal of his career.

In the 12th minute Guatemala had a surprise 1-0 lead against the defending world champions. Disaster then struck in the Guatemalan penalty area as goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen had a careless giveaway.

If there’s one guy you don’t want to give the ball away to in front of your goal, it’s Messi.

Denmark men’s national team refuse pay raise to help support women’s team

Denmark's male footballers have decided to refuse a pay raise for playing for the national team in order to ensure their female counterparts get equal basic pay, the global players' union FIFPRO said on Friday.

The national football association (DBU) had been looking to ensure equal pay for both teams but players from both squads were not in favor of taking money from the men's team to pay the women.
