Zenit Players Take Pitch Holding Puppies And Malcom Couldn’t Be Happier

Brazilian winger Malcom hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him after a $46 million transfer to Barcelona in the summer of 2018. He lasted just one season in Spain before he was shipped off to Russia. But just look at the man now; I don’t think he could be any happier.

Malcom and Zenit St. Petersburg players walked onto the pitch for a Russian Premier League match against FC Rostov on Friday carrying puppies in their arms. It was all part of an attempt to get these good boys and girls adopted from local shelters.

Sergei Semak's team coasted to victory in its second UCL outing of the season, already up 2-0 when Malmö's Anel Ahmedhodžić was sent off for a handball after 53 minutes.

Georgian Starboy Kvaratskhelia Scores A Worldie

Rubin Kazan has one of the gems of the Russian Premier League on its hands in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Two years on, those in decision-making positions at the capital club may be kicking themselves for not making that loan permanent. Kvaratskhelia has scored eight goals and assisted 13 in 53 appearances for Rubin Kazan and, still just 20 years old, has found himself linked with several clubs across Europe, most recently AC Milan.

Russian Football Fans Treated To Pre-Game Covid-19 Vaccine

MOSCOW — Football fans attending the Russian Premier League clash between Zenit and Akhmat Grozny in St. Petersburg on Saturday were offered an unusual pre-game treat — a vaccine against COVID-19.

Upon arrival at the Gazprom Arena, people could decide whether or not to receive the free shot, Russia's Sputnik V vaccine. At least 20 fans were vaccinated before the game, according to a Reuters reporter. The service was available for two hours before and after the game, so that number could rise.
