A statement from Club America's website read:
And we ran it through Google Translate so you don't have to:
On 5 March this year, under the party dated 9 Clausura 2016 between America and Morelia at Estadio Azteca, our legendary striker and idol, Cuauhtemoc Blanco Bravo, will bid farewell to the fans azulcrema defending by last time our colors.
In this year of celebration, in our centenary, we recognize who was born, raised and gave everything in defense of our great club.
Blanco, 43, scored 135 goals in 333 appearances for Club America. He now spends his days as the mayor of his adopted hometown, Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Circle March 5 on your calendars. This should be fun.
