Charlton Athletic is going to have a tough first round in the EFL Carabao Cup.
The tournament’s first-round draw was held Friday in Bangkok and apparently the graphics producers needed another can of Carabao, a Thai energy drink.
During the Facebook livestream Charlton was shown as playing both Exeter City and Cheltenham Town in the first round.
Tough luck.
Of course, Charlton isn’t actually playing Exeter and Cheltenham.
Turns out they’re the only team playing.
Technical glitches have been sorted and the Carabao Cup draw is now as follows #carabaocup pic.twitter.com/SEk4ooKQom

In truth, Charlton is playing Exeter and EFL blamed the gaffe on “third-party technical issues” the result of human error.
Charlton fans weren’t the only ones upset with the draw.
Due to audio issues, graphics were the only way to see who was playing who for most of the time.
Additionally, there was another graphical error when Forest Green Rovers and Yeovil Town were swapped.
That said, the draw could have been worse. Who remembers this fellow picking the fifth round in 1991?
And in Carabao’s defense, they had a much better launch last year with Reading.
