Fans Light Up Emirates Stadium In Unwelcome Display

The whole “treat your guests with respect” thing doesn’t really work in soccer. UEFA has announced that they will be investigating Galatasaray, Basel and Borussia Dortmund following reports of crowd disturbances at this week's Champions League matches.

Galatasaray fans got pretty rowdy at Emirates Stadium, as they brought along flares that they used during and after the match. Below are two videos of Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder asking supporters to stop throwing flares onto the pitch and a huge group of Gala fans throwing flares at Arsenal fans after the match.

Basel will be investigated after a battery appeared to be thrown towards the assistant referee, and Dortmund will be investigated for lighting flares in their section against Anderlecht.

Arsenal are also going to be investigated, but will face lesser chargers for failing to stop the flares being thrown onto the grounds and failing to search fans. Arsenal reported that there was damage to around 100 seats in the away end and will cooperate with UEFA fully.

Each case will be dealt by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on October 16.
