The German forward had been linked to other MLS teams like St. Louis City SC and Charlotte FC, however the Galaxy seem to have won the transfer race. The Galaxy acquired his Discovery Rights for $350,000.
Saudi Arabian clubs were also interested in putting his name to paper, however MLS looks to be gaining a new superstar.
If Reus does sign with the Galaxy, he’ll join forces with one of the top teams in the league as the Los Angeles side are in a heated battle for first place in the Western Conference.
The Galaxy have scored 44 goals through 24 league games with Dejan Joveljic (12), Gabriel Pec (9), Joseph Paintsil (6) and Riqui Puig (6) leading the team in scoring. Adding Reus to this squad will make them even more lethal.
How the Galaxy work Reus’ contract will be interesting to see as Puig, Pec and Paintsil fill the three Designated Player slots.
