A referee has died on the pitch during a game he was officiating in Argentina after apparently being shot by a player he had red-carded earlier.
Cesar Flores, 48, was officiating a match in Cordoba, Argentina, when a yet-unnamed player was sent off and reportedly returned to the field after retreiving a gun from his bag, shooting Flores and killing him.
From FOX Soccer:
Authorities are still looking for the player responsible and are still trying to piece together what happened. A police source told Efe news agency: "It all happened during the football match. We don't know [exactly what took place], but it appears the player was angry, fetched a gun and killed him."
The suspected shooter is still at large, with Argentinian authorities searching for him.
