Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo injury setback means the Portuguese forward faces a race against time in his battle for fitness. The AS is reporting that Cristiano Ronaldo will undergo a round of stem cell treatments in order to try and return for the second leg of Real Madrid's Champions League clash with Manchester City next Wednesday.
The Portuguese winger has a muscle tear in his thigh which caused him to miss the games against Rayo Vallecano and Manchester City, and he will not be available for the match against Real Sociedad this weekend.
With Real Madrid and Manchester City delicately balanced at 0-0 going into the second leg, Zinedine Zidane will be hoping that Ronaldo can recover in time for the crucial clash at the Bernabeu. The first leg in Manchester was punctuated by a distinct lack of adventure from either side, and Ronaldo's inclusion could be the key to adding some impetus. He has scored 16 goals in 10 Champions League appearances this season.
Even with a Ronaldo injury setback, Madrid will still be overwhelming favorites to go through, especally considering they will be at home.
