If we had to guess what chant echoed around the ground when the final whistle blew, and it became official that Bhutan had, in fact, beaten Sri Lanka by a score of 1-0, it probably went a little something like this.
“WE’RE NOT THAT BAD. WE’RE NOT THAT BAD. WE’VE WON A GAME, THE ONE FOR WHICH YOU CAME. WE’RE NOT THAT BAD. WE’RE NOT THAT BAD.”
See, Bhutan are literally the worst team in the world. Or at least they were. We honestly aren’t sure how a solitary win — the first in Bhuton’s history — affects FIFA’s World Rankings, but it’s gotta count for something right?
But Bhutan are in no mood for moral victories at the moment. Not when this sweet piece of play secured their first win since 2003.
By the way, Bhutan may have been the worst team in the world, but those jerseys are world class. It’s like the Netherland’s orange seduced a dragon and their baby turned out to be incredibly stylish. Seriously, check them out.
Congratulates Bhutan. You not only won, you won in style.
