With His 31st Birthday Approaching, Lionel Messi Reveals How He’s Adapting His Game

Lionel Messi interviews are an exceptionally rare thing, but the Barcelona star recently spoke on “La Cornisa,” an Argentine show on América TV. The 30-year-old, who’ll turn 31 during the summer’s World Cup, answered questions regarding the continuing evolution of his game.

River Plate Beat Boca Juniors In Super Rare Supercopa Superclásico And It Was Super

The Supercopa Argentina is a relatively new competition pitting the winner of the Argentine Primera División and the Copa Argentina, first played in 2012. Wednesday night’s edition was by far the best one yet, with a River Plate vs Boca Juniors Supercopa Superclásico.

It’s rare for the Superclásico to be a part of a cup final. The only other River Plate vs Boca Juniors match in such an event was 1976, a Boca victory.

Given the rarity of such an event, the scenes were epic, even for a match that doesn’t hold too much weight, kind of like the Community Shield in England.

The Most Anticipated Match Of The 2018 World Cup? It’s Argentina-Iceland

With FIFA set to begin the general sales phase of tickets for the 2018 World Cup in Russia today, two previous phases have resulted in an allocation of 1,303,616 tickets for the 64 matches — knocking two matches entirely off the docket: the final at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and June 16’s Group D opener between Argentina and Iceland at Otkritie Arena in Moscow.

Club América Thrashes Tauro In CONCACAF Champions League

Club América vs. Tauro delivered an entertaining CONCACAF Champions League fixture last night.

Barely 3,000 fans attended the game at Estadio Azteca as Las Águilas hosted Panama's powerhouse Club Tauro.

Even after Tauro achieved a shock victory against Dallas FC in the round of 16, it was expected that Miguel Herrera's pupils would come out victorious.

FC Dallas Plummets To A New Low With Embarrassing Defeat To Tauro FC

On paper, this is one of the more shocking upsets you’ll ever see in the CONCACAF Champions League. FC Dallas joined the Colorado Rapids as victims of the CCL Round of 16, leaving just Seattle and NYRB as the only remaining American representatives. But while Colorado’s defeat to Toronto FC was widely expected, Dallas’ plummet from grace continues to be a free fall.

U-20 Player Becomes First To Take Out Corner Flag And Attempt To Stab Somebody

“Hey, I got a hockey record. I took my skate off and tried to stab somebody. I’m the only guy who ever did that.” - Happy Gilmore

A Copa Libertadores U-20 semifinal match between Uruguay’s Club Atletico River Plate and Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle did not pass without incident yesterday. No, it did not.

Spurs See The Benefit Of Fielding A Brazilian International Against A Third Division Side

If not for Brazilian international Lucas Moura — making his first start for Tottenham following a January transfer from PSG — Spurs would’ve been knocked out of the FA Cup by third-tier side Rochdale on Sunday. There were the late dramatics of Dele Alli winning a penalty and Harry Kane converting from the spot, only for Rochdale to deservedly earn a Wembley replay with a 92nd minute equalizer, but Lucas was the only real positive for Tottenham on the day.

Watch The Celebration That Got A Club Banned From A Stadium

Vinicius Jr., who will arrive at Real Madrid eventually, scored an incredible goal for Flamengo in a 3-1 win against Botafogo Saturday. Vinicius then celebrated by pretending to cry.

It turns out there is some history behind that celebration.

In 2008, some Botafogo players began crying in a press conference held to protest refereeing decisions. They have been mocked for that ever since.

This Defender Thinks He's Luis Suarez During The 2010 World Cup

Perhaps the most famous play of Luis Suarez's career occured during the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup, when Uruguay faced Ghana. Suarez blocked a header off the goal line with his hands late in extra time and was sent off. Ghana missed the ensuing penalty, and Uruguay advanced.

Despicable Nacional Fans Taunt Chapecoense With Nauseating Airplane Gestures

Wednesday’s Copa Libertadores match between Brazil’s Chapecoense and Uruguay’s Nacional at the Arena Conda in Chapeco was marred by one of the most compelling arguments ever made for misanthropy.
