Make it back-to-back hat-tricks for 17-year-old Liverpool talent Rhian Brewster at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. After hitting the United States for three in England’s 4-1 victory in the quarterfinals, the London-born striker again found the back of the net thrice, this time in the Three Lions’ 3-1 victory over Brazil in the semifinals.

Brewster, who scored on his Liverpool U-23 debut back in January, now leads the tournament’s Golden Boot race with seven goals. He also bravely struck the first penalty in England’s Round of 16 shootout triumph over Japan. 

Right when we thought things couldn't get worse for Chivas de Guadalajara, a shocking rumor comes roaring from overseas: The Mirror has reported that Chivas manager Matias Almeyda is now a “shock contender” to succeed Craig Shakespeare as Leicester City manager.

Although there had been persistent talk that Almeyda’s days managing Chivas were numbered, nothing had yet been solidified.

Based on the evidence here, Sofiane Boufal’s Southampton career is something of a slow burn. The Moroccan attacker arrived last season for a club-record fee of over $21 million. He then scored one Premier League goal in 24 matches for the Saints. But Boufal has already matched that total this season thanks to a match-winner against West Brom that could ultimately stand as the EPL Goal of the Season.

A rainy day in West Yorkshire turned to magic today as Huddersfield Town did the unexpected. The defense in particular showed frantic inspiration, fending off a series of attempts that seemed certain to materialize in a goal, but never did. In the end, Huddersfield beat Manchester United for the first time in 65 years in what will be the match of the weekend.

What a historic week for Carlisle United striker Shaun Miller. Last Friday, the 30-year-old was awarded the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month award for September after receiving 50% of the public vote for his hooked overhead kick against Barnet.

With Coventry City trailing Forest Green 1-0 in English League Two football on Tuesday, one Coventry supporter took issue with his side’s inability to win the ball back and invaded the pitch to help apply pressure near the corner flag. Play appropriately stopped, but with security absolutely nowhere in sight, the fan proceeded to berate his team’s players before showing himself back to his seat.

The lack of security is obviously disturbing, but the hairdryer treatment was somewhat deserved with the team having failed to score in three straight matches now. 

England has five teams in the Champions League for the first time and amazingly all of them are still unbeaten through three matches in group play. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham all lead their groups with a combined 11 wins, four draws and no losses.
