When an anniversary kit is done right, there's always something stunning about the perfect balance of football heritage with modern technology. We've started 2023 with two perfect examples of this theory.  

On Monday, Feb. 13, FC Köln celebrated their 75th anniversary after being founded back in 1948. To commemorate the occasion, the Billy Goats got a special edition shirt by Hummel that they wore on Sunday during a 3-0 Bundesliga victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Radical European Super League proposal aims to include 80 clubs

BERLIN - A future European Super League could include as many as 80 teams, Bernd Reichart, the chief executive of A22 Sports Management, a company formed to sponsor and assist in the creation of a breakaway soccer league, said on Thursday.

In a statement outlining the preliminary results of talks that A22 had with what it said was 50 European clubs and stakeholders of football, the company said change was necessary.

The USMNT youngster came off the bench and scored for Borussia Dortmund for the third time in his last three Bundesliga games on Saturday. This time he netted Dortmund’s fifth goal in a 5-1 destruction of SC Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund have played two league games since the Bundesliga restart and Reyna has scored late game-winners in both. On Sunday he scored a rocket of a goal in the 78th minute to seal a 4-3 Dortmund victory.

On Wednesday he was the hero again, but this time snatched the winning goal in the 93rd minute for Dortmund’s 2-1 victory vs. Mainz.

LEIPZIG — Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich took the lead but had to settle for a 1-1 draw at RB Leipzig on Friday following a toothless second half, as the league resumed after a two-month break.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting put the visitors in front in the 38th minute following a strong first half but Leipzig levelled with Marcel Halstenberg seven minutes after the restart.

Premier League dominates latest list of the world's 20 richest clubs

Manchester City have topped the Deloitte Football Money League for the second year in a row as the world's highest revenue-generating club in the 2021-22 season in which fans returned to stadiums as COVID-19 restrictions were eased.

Abu Dhabi-owned City generated total revenue of $790.65 million, followed by Real Madrid ($771.42 million) and Liverpool ($758.45 million).

City's rivals Manchester United generated $744.41 million and Paris St Germain made $706.59 million.

USMNT and Mexico to play against Germany in 2023, USMNT vs. Mexico also in talks

The next World Cup hosts are looking to prepare themselves in the best way possible ahead of the tournament in 2026, and with much speculation over how they'll manage to do that, they might've just sealed a top-quality opponent in 2023.

According to multiple reports, the USMNT and Mexico are both in talks with Germany for a friendly to be played later this year. 

Dortmund's Sébastien Haller ready for comeback after 6-month battle with testicular cancer

BERLIN - Borussia Dortmund forward Sébastien Haller is back in team training and ready to make his competitive comeback following surgery and treatment for testicular cancer.

The striker was diagnosed during a pre-season training camp in July and had been signed only weeks earlier by Dortmund for an initial fee of $33.24 million.
