Dogs are good. Soccer dogs are especially good. A soccer team walking on the field with soccer dogs instead of children as mascots is just so incredibly good we can't even contain ourselves.
Chilean side Colo Colo walked out with some soccer dogs looking to be adopted before Colo Colo's match against Antofagasta. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, but my guess is no one noticed because they were entranced by the good dogs.
No disrespect to Lionel Messi, but if your 10-year-old kid started doing this one day in the backyard, would you think “Gee, little Jimmy’s sure showing an inclination towards soccer” or would you think “Gee, little Jimmy may literally be the Devil incarnate”?
Based on a genetic family history more prone to madness than to footballing excellence, I’d opt for the latter. No disrespect to Messi, but if my son were doing this, I’d check for a weird birthmark and ask my local priest for seven sacrificial daggers.
Barcelona have slowly begun entering the catch-22 phase initiated by the golden era of Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique. Basically, it goes like this: La Masia will never again produce a group of players like that one. They turned Barcelona into a global sporting institution synonymous with the quality of being elite.
