Child Invades Pitch To Console Defeated Goalkeeper

Defensa y Justicia suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Boca Juniors on Sunday evening, a fifth straight match without a win in Argentina’s Primera División. Luis Vázquez dinked the winner past keeper Ezequiel Unsain in the 92nd minute to secure all three points for the visitors.

After the final whistle blew, Unsain fell to his knees, disconsolate over his role in the defeat.

The goalkeeper was then consoled not by a teammate, coach or even an opponent, but by a young boy from the stands. A child pitch invader consoled Unsain, and the touching moment was caught on camera.

In the 2021-22 season, Arsenal supporters were taken on the wildest of rollercoaster rides; the first season without European football in a quarter century was met with incredible highs and stupefying lows.

An electric crowd of 30,000 at sunbathed City Ground roared its charmed Nottingham Forest side to a 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday afternoon in the first Premier League match at the stadium in 23 years.

Leo Messi had a flying start in Ligue 1, scoring a brace in PSG's 5-0 rout of Clermont Foot. One of those goals was a bicycle kick that sparked a few conversations around the world. Our favorite take? A sweet Argentinian grandma who fell from her chair trying to describe Messi's feat to her granddaughter.

For comparison purposes, this is Messi's bicycle kick after a superb assist from Leandro Paredes.

There's Being Excited For The Season And Then There's Roma Right Now

Hypothetically speaking, if you could only watch one club in Europe this season from a neutral's perspective, I don't think you could find anything more dramatic or exciting than the current build of AS Roma.

The hype started last season with the return of José Mourinho to Italy, where he enjoys an unblemished reputation on the strength of his remarkable two-year period with Inter Milan. The 59-year-old didn't disappoint during his first year in Rome by landing the club's first major trophy (the inaugural Conference League) since 2008.
