Bastian Schweinsteiger is in soccer limbo. He's caught in-between Manchester United, who do not want him, and the Chicago Fire, who want him but cannot have him until his visa clears.
So Schweinsteiger is left to his own devices, which have brought him to Mallorca to train until he's legally allowed to enter the United States.
Back on October 13, 2013, Panama were on the verge of their first-ever World Cup finals. Needing Costa Rica to defeat Mexico in San Jose was the first part of the equation, but the more daunting task was the one facing them — they’d have to defeat the United States in Panama City.
With the United States having already qualified as Hexagonal winners, a largely second-string American team gave Panama the conviction that history could be made on the day. Panama took an early lead through Gabriel Torres, only to be pegged back by American defender Michael Orozco.

With the loss of the San Diego Chargers to Los Angeles, San Diego has become a frontrunner for MLS expansion as the league looks to fill that void. The U.S. Men’s National Team has a crucial week ahead. After losing its first two CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers in November, it needs to make up ground in the standings. Its first opportunity comes against Honduras tonight in San Jose. The team will then travel to Panama for a match next Tuesday, March 28th.
Only three games into the 2017 MLS regular season, Real Salt Lake have decided to fire manager Jeff Cassar. RSL have gone winless with one draw and two losses, and they've only managed to score one goal.
Cassar had been associated with the organization since 2007, serving as an assistant under Jason Kreis, including during Real Salt Lake's 2009 MLS Cup win. The team also reached the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League final.
Saturday’s match between the winless New England Revolution and the winless Minnesota United FC was never going to be billed as an instant classic. It never promised to raise hell in the cavernous amphitheater that is Gillette Stadium, but as far as home openers go, the people of New England should at least be expecting a product that befits the designation of America’s top soccer division.
