Epic Volley Denies Chelsea Women WSL Title

The Chelsea women entered the final match day of the Women’s Super League with a two point lead on Birmingham, but come day's end it was Liverpool who finished atop the table.

The hero was Toni Duggan, a Liverpool native who scored the deciding goal en route to a Manchester City 2-1 victory over Chelsea. Duggan controlled a cross beautifully off of her chest before blasting a volley into the far side of the net.

The Greatest Goal Pele Ever Scored, Recreated

Pele is a legend. There is no disputing this, regardless of whether or not you think he is the greatest player of all time.

Sporting legends, however, usually have to deal with a much lower degree of hear-say in the chronicling of their career. The story of Pele’s life will never change by word-of-mouth as much as, say, Beowulf’s, but as this next video will show, that doesn’t mean that the soccer star’s storied career is not with out its fair share of, well, stories.

The Top Last Minute Goals Of All Time

There's perhaps nothing more satisfying (or heartbreaking, depending which side of the goal you're on) than the last-minute goal in futbol. It's actually amazing how often those last few minutes of extra time yield the game winner or equalizer. It's as if during that several minute stretch, the laws of physics and normal match play no longer apply, and free kicks fly further, corners magically find their way to the head or foot of players in mid-air, and entire stadiums hold their breath - waiting to exhale in either celebration or utter defeat.

Striker Falls Into A Hole During Celebration. And Gets Yellow Card.

Coritiba and São Paulo met yesterday in a Brazil Serie A match, which saw striker Joel score two goals in a 3-1 victory. Now, we’re not here to talk about the game or even the pretty sweet goal that Joel scored. We’re here to talk about the giant, random hole that he fell into during his second celebration.

The 5 All Time Greatest Ways To Score

Soccer is a game of possibility. You never know what's going to happen next. Goals can be scored in so many different ways, and not all goals were created equal. So, let’s take a look at what separates mere goals from legends.

1. The Volley

Oh how you tease me, ball in the air. How I have felt you rocket off my foot absolutely perfectly…only to fly 30 yards over the bar.

Caleb Porter Challenges Pep Guardiola To #IceBucketChallenge (VIDEO)

Remember the infamous wagging finger from Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola to MLS All-Star head coach Caleb Porter's outstreched hand? Well Porter may be having a little fun with it after their win against the powerful Bayern Munich. On Monday, he challenged Pep Guardiola to take the #IceBucketChallenge. He even adds a little more humor and stretches his hand out AGAIN!

Fastest Goal In Mexican Soccer History (VIDEO)

The score graphic was not up yet. The photographers did not have their cameras up. No one was expecting Gustavo Ramirez to rip a shot from the kick-off. Yet, 4 seconds into the match, Ramirez took a shot from the midfield line and scored the fastest goal in Mexican soccer history. The opposing goalkeeper was likely the most surprised. There is also nothing better than hearing Mexican soccer comentators scream "GOOOOLLL!" for minutes long.
