Las cifras de asistencia a la Copa de Oro que se remontan a 2005 muestran que México atrae a más aficionados que Estados Unidos, a pesar de que todos sus partidos se celebran en Estados Unidos.

Los Estados Unidos han sido anfitriones de las últimas siete Copas de Oro de la CONCACAF, lo que se podría considerar que proporcionaría a la USMNT una importante ventaja en el campo de juego. Sin embargo, las cifras de asistencia dejan claro que México tiene el apoyo más leal de los Estados Unidos.

En las seis Copas de Oro que datan de 2005 (sin incluir el torneo de este año), México siempre ha atraído a más aficionados a sus partidos que la USMNT. Aunque México no juega tan a menudo en los Estados Unidos como la USMNT, las diferencias son significativas y sugieren que El Tri tiene más aficionados dedicados en el terreno de juego de su rival.

México, por su parte, tuvo 53.133 asistentes en su primer partido contra El Salvador en San Diego. Juegan de nuevo esta noche en Denver y deberían superar fácilmente el total de dos partidos de la USMNT.
