Americans In The Bundesliga: Round-up

All four Americans in the Bundesliga started and played the whole game for their clubs this week. Here's the round-up of the action:

Borussia Monchengladbach 0, FC Koln 0:

A real snooze-fest of a game (very few scoring chances) was made somewhat bearable by the solid play of Fabian Johnson for Monchengladbach. Johnson started and drew three fouls.

Hamburger SV 0, Bayern Munich 0:

This 0-0 draw was a little more exciting, and was made more so for American fans when Julian Green came on for Hamburger to face his old side, replacing Pierre-Michel Lasogga. Green didn’t record any notable stats, however.

Eintracht Frankfurt 2, Schalke 04 2:

Now this game was exciting, and not just because Timmy Chandler started and played the whole game for Frankfurt. Chandler had a chance to win it in extra time with a good shot to the top right corner that Ralf Fahrmann saved. Three red cards were given out in the game, to Julian Draxler and Kevin Prince Boateng of Schalke and to Slobodan Medojevic of Frankfurt.

Hertha Berlin 2, SC Freiberg 2:

All ties. Weird. John Brooks started for Berlin and played the whole game, picking up a yellow card along the way. This was a physical contest, and Berlin’s Nico Shulz was sent off during extra time.
