Club de Cuervos Is A New Mexican Soap Opera That You Don’t Want to Miss

Who would have ever thought you could dramatize soccer? This Mexican soap opera pits family vs. family in who will take charge of their father’s soccer club.

Club de Cuervos, a Mexican soap opera, focuses itself on a family that now must decide who will take charge of the father’s soccer club. The comedy-drama can be found on Netflix and could be a good option for soccer fans who can’t handle the mid-week slump of having no professional soccer games to watch. The comedy may not involve the kind of drama we see on the pitch every weekend, but it does include hilarious scenes that parody soccer and family.

Even though the series is in Spanish, you can always set-up English subtitles. Or you can put your high school Spanish to the test. Definitely try the latter. Club de Cuervos is just on its first season, with 13 episodes to watch. The series, co-created by filmmaker Gaz Alazraki, begins with the father figure and owner of the Club, Salvador, passing away. Club de Cuervos of Nuevo Toledo is without an owner and manager, and the club’s future falls into the hands of everyone else in the family, who must decide who is most qualified to run the club.

Two opposing figures are the daughter Isabel and Chava who are completely different individuals and who duke it out in deciding who’ll take charge. Unfortunately for the club, Chava takes over and drama ensues. Don’t want to spoil more of it for you, but definitely catch the series on Netflix.
