Sometimes clubs and player do things that make you realize that they do still have things in perspective, and they don’t see the world through a Lamborghini kaleidoscope lens (although that sounds really cool, not gonna lie).
Palestinian five-year-old Ahmed Dawabcheh lost his parents and baby brother in a firebombing carried out by Jewish extremists. This tragedy led to Dawabcheh suffering injuries as well, and he has spent the last 8 months of his life recovering.
Ahmed Dawabcheh was apparently photographed wearing a Real Madrid jersey while he was injured, so his countrymen campaigned on social media to get him a meeting with the team. Their campaign paid off, and Dawabcheh got to meet Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Marcelo.
It is heartwarming to see all three of them interact with Dawabcheh, especially Marcelo (who I now think is the man). A tale as tragic as Dawabcheh’s should be able to reach across whatever boundaries keep stars such as them from interacting with the rest of us.
"The Real Madrid team met him and took photos with him and gave him a shirt and ball signed by the whole team," Madrid said in a statement.
"Clearly moved, the boy ran around the facilities before witnessing his idols train."
Have a great weekend everyone.
