Remember the adorable little boy who made a Messi jersey out of a plastic bag and then went viral on the internet? If reports from various media organizations, most notably Sky News, are to be believed, his identity has been discovered at record speed even for the web.
A Kurdish television station is claiming to have found the boy, identified by them as a boy named Hamid, who lives in Dohuk, Kurdistan, in Iraq.
They showed him with a new(er) Barcelona number 10 jersey, ostensibly Messi's.
We have to be honest here, guys. Our bullsh*t meter is tingling. Some people have critiques Hamid as not looking exactly like the other photo (which, it's claimed, was taken two years ago), but honestly we can't tell the difference. This whole thing just seems contrived to us, and there's not really a good way to verify everything. Hamid seems like a nice kid, though, so whatever.
Here's the video, in case any of you jokers speak Arabic and want to watch. Feel free to play amateur detective and let us know if you think Hamid is the kid in the picture.
