Leigh Griffiths played like a man possessed (as did Kolo Toure) during Celtic’s 5-2 victory over Hapoel Be’er Sheva in their first-leg Champions League playoff victory at Celtic Park. The Scottish striker almost willed Celtic into the Champions League group stage with two goals and an assist on the night.
His greatest contribution came in the first minute of first half stoppage time. Having drawn a foul outside the box to the right-hand side of goal, Griffiths picked himself up and curled his effort into the top right-hand corner.

It was a sensational strike hit with real power, accuracy and curve. The goal would look that much more important following two quick goals from Hapoel after the break. However, additional goals from Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Scott Brown mean that the Glasgow side will travel to Israel all but assured of their place in the 2016-17 Champions League group stage.
