The J1 League came to a close on Nov. 30, and with it, Andres Iniesta’s first season with Vissel Kobe. Iniesta’s club finished 10th, but the 34-year-old was a huge success during his shortened, 14-game season — he scored three goals and added three assists, including this beautiful strike in Vissel Kobe’s final match.
Before it all gets started again in February, Iniesta took some time off to return to his old stomping ground in Barcelona at the team’s Ciutat Esportiva training ground.
Barcelona’s coming off a 4-0 derby victory over Espanyol on Saturday (a match in which Lionel Messi struck two exquisite free kicks) and preparing for a Champions League clash with Tottenham on Tuesday, but Iniesta was still the main story while saying hello to the likes of Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Messi, Gerard Pique, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.
