Real Betis defeated its city rival Sevilla 5-3 in La Liga on Saturday at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, a fantastic victory for the mid-table club over a team fighting for a Champions League place. When Real Betis players returned from the crosstown trip, they were greeted by hundreds of fans packing the streets to welcome home their heroes after triumph in the Seville Derby.
The scenes were a beautiful reminder of the link between club and fan. The two groups were in total sync with their celebrations.
Perhaps most endearing of all are the looks on the players’ faces as they exit the bus to see a throng of humanity waiting to celebrate. They’re more than eager to join in with their fans to sing songs, yell chants, dance around and be merry.
Derbies are where real passion comes through for both players and fans and it’s wonderful to see the two join together to celebrate the Seville Derby conquest. Here’s another clip:

Real Betis returns home to play Leganes for a Monday evening clash. After that, the club hosts Barcelona on Jan. 21. We can’t wait to see the celebrations if the Béticos managed to take down Barça.
