Video Of Player Breaking Elbow On Ad Board Provides Another Reason To Push The Damn Things Back

Newly promoted Stuttgart faced Liverpool over the weekend in a friendly match in Austria. The match ended up being not so friendly when Stuttgart forward Erik Thommy received a push from Joe Gomez that sent him reeling into the advertisement boards. The impact fractured Thommy’s elbow, and he'll now be out for several weeks.

I will warn you that this video is not for the faint of heart as the injury is a bit grim.

New Nike Ad Narrated By Megan Rapinoe Is Probably Going To Piss Some People Off

Nike has released the third part of its "You Can’t Stop Us" campaign and it’s pretty amazing. The campaign itself is geared towards showing the resilience of people around the world. No matter the odds stacked against you, you must always rise above.

The first film in the series was narrated by LeBron James and called "Never Too Far Down." In it, James talked about coming back from defeat. Coming back and fighting with every ounce of strength marks an athlete, and people around the world can learn from that.

Harry Kane has shown his true, brilliant colors with his latest act of charity. The Tottenham striker has taken over shirt sponsorship for League Two side Leyton Orient for the 2020-21 season, and the new jerseys will feature three different charities where sponsors usually go.

Mike Tyson’s Weed Company Wants Camp Nou Naming Rights, So Hopefully That Happens

Outside of the Pentagon recognizing the existence of UFOs, this week’s strangest saga has been the story of Mike Tyson’s weed company trying to purchase the naming rights to Barcelona’s legendary Camp Nou stadium.

Liverpool Stars Put Acting Chops To The Test

As part of a new advertising campaign between Liverpool and partners Chaokoh, some Reds first-teamers tried their hands at acting.

For the bit — "The Team Meting: Content Creative Session" — the Liverpool players were challenged to brainstorm ideas which could be used to market Chaokoh, a UK-based coconut milk/water brand. Andrew Robertson gets the ball rolling by confiding in teammate Curtis Jones that he's considering a career in music "if football doesn't work out."

Throwback Thursday: Nike's "The Mission" Commercial

Alright, I’m gonna reboot our Throwback Thursday here with a fresh spin on it and see how it goes. If you like it, great, if you hate it, great, it’ll be no more.

Today we’re on a blast from the past with a Nike soccer commercial you guys are hopefully familiar with. It’s one of my top favorites out there, "The Mission" commercial:

Gatorade’s New GOAT Camp Commercial Is A Whole Lot Of Lionel Messi

Do you ever wish that you could go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry except instead of magic and getting attacked by Lord Voldemort every year it's a school for elite athletes? I know I don’t because I’d probably be an outcast, fail every single class and tear my hamstring, but that’s essentially the idea behind Gatorade’s new GOAT Camp advertisement.

Over 20 Years Later, David Beckham Still Gets Emotional Talking About His Infamous Red Card

No one did a personal redemption story out on the pitch quite like David Beckham. He did it during his final season at Real Madrid, when he went from being dropped by Fabio Capello to proving instrumental in the club’s dramatic LaLiga triumph. He did it with the LA Galaxy when shifting his reputation from disinterred Hollywood celebrity to two-time MLS Cup champion.

Remember When Roberto Carlos Was An Absolute Menace In Old Pepsi Commercials?

Roberto Carlos built his reputation off winning everything and stonking thunderbastards wherever he went. He was like that new species of dinosaur they just discovered, the “Reaper of Death,” because going toe-to-toe with him marked the endpoint of your existence.

Kaká Fills In As A Ringer During Amateur Match In London

The latest ad campaign from adidas comes close to greatness. It’s all centered around the release of the Predator 20 Mutator boots, which feature the striking implementation of DEMONSKIN technology. The breakthrough tech is immediately noticeable in the form of 406 spikes on the upper which work together as a textured layer to enhance grip on the ball and maximize control.
