Frida Maanum scores insane goal in upper-90 to help send Arsenal to Champions League semis

Arsenal defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium Wednesday to win 2-1 on aggregate in the Women’s Champions League quarterfinal.

The Gunners overcame a 1-0 first-leg deficit to reach the UWCL semifinals for the first time since 2013.

An out of this world goal from Norwegian midfielder Frida Maanum in the 19th minute sparked the comeback.

Arsenal put together a quick succession of passes after regaining possession outside of Bayern’s box to set up Maanum. The 23-year-old took the shot first time and placed it into the top corner like an arrow.

USMNT Striker Power Rankings

The USMNT finished the Nations League group stage with another demonstration of its strength out wide as Christian Pulisic, Brenden Aaronson and Gio Reyna all had their moments, but Ricardo Pepi made a statement up top with three goals in two games to trigger a storm of "I knew we should've brought him to Qatar!" takes on Twitter. Virgil van Dijk got lucky.

Mapi León's 25-yard missile fires Barcelona into Champions League semifinals

Barcelona vs. Roma was the biggest mismatch of the Women's Champions League quarterfinals on paper, and so it proved over two legs as Barça stormed to a 6-1 aggregate victory over the Italian side.

After winning 1-0 in Rome last week, Barcelona scored five at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night through Fridolina Rolfö's brace and further goals from Mapi León, Asisat Oshoala and Patri Guijarro.

Italy international Annamaria Serturini was able to score one for La Lupa in Catalonia.

Bicycle kicks don’t come much prettier than Colombia’s game-winner vs. Japan

Colombia defeated Japan 2-1 on Tuesday courtesy of a spectacular game-winning bicycle kick from forward Rafael Borré.

With the scored tied at 1-1 in the 61st minute the Eintracht Frankfurt striker pulled out some incredible skill to give his side the lead. Japan goalkeeper and Illinois native Daniel Schmidt did well to stop an initial Colombian effort, but he couldn’t do anything about Borré’s follow up shot.

USMNT player ratings vs. El Salvador: All aboard the Pepi train!

The USMNT got the job done Monday night by beating El Salvador 1-0 at Exploria Stadium to advance to this summer's CONCACAF Nations League Finals in Las Vegas.

The Americans needed only a draw to make it happen, and everyone at home probably would've agreed to that after a scoreless opening 45 that was painful to watch. USMNT wordsmith Anthony Hudson called it "a little bit too transitiony." The highlight was La Selecta fans starting an "olé!" chant after stringing together a couple passes, only for a guy to pass it straight to Daryl Dike.

Not for Irish eyes: Benjamin Pavard goes crossbar down from 20 yards out

Placed in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying group of death with France, the Netherlands and Greece, Ireland's only hope of reaching Germany was protecting Dublin against all invaders.

Up first on Monday night was a visit from the World Cup runners-up, France, who'd just blasted the Dutch 4-0 in Paris to kick-off their own campaign.

Jamaica silenced Mexico with one of the best goals of 2023

Remember when Jamaica snatched an improbable draw against the USMNT in World Cup qualifying with an absolute thunderbastard from Michail Antonio

On Sunday night in CONCACAF Nations League play at the Azteca, the Reggae Boyz attempted a similar strategy against Mexico through Bobby Decordova-Reid. In the seventh-minute, the Fulham forward opened the scoring with a half-volley from the heavens.

Trinity Rodman begins new season with an unstoppable performance against OL Reign

Opening weekend of the NWSL season continued Sunday with the Washington Spirit welcoming OL Reign to Audi Field, where Trinity Rodman brought the crowd to its feet with some sublime quality on the ball and a solo game-winner in the second half.

We had a scoreless opening 45 in the nation's capital, but Rodman established herself as the standout player with a couple brilliant moments.

One run from deep inside her own half was finished with a backheel pass and half-chance for Ashley Hatch.

Smiling Saka dazzles for England again

LONDON - Bukayo Saka is one of the first names on England manager Gareth Southgate's teamsheet and his weekly performances for Arsenal are driving them towards the Premier League title so it's no wonder the 21-year-old cannot stop smiling.

The winger created England's opener for Harry Kane in the comfortable 2-0 victory over Ukraine in Euro 2024 qualifying Group C at Wembley on Sunday, then scored an absolute beauty himself to seal the man-of-the-match award.
